Brussels Sprouts (Matthew’s)
- Makes
- 4 servings
- Cook time
- 15 minutes
Ingredients
1 | lbs | Brussels sprouts | |
2-3 | cloves | garlic | minced |
1-2 | tsp | salt | |
pinch | red pepper flakes
2 | tsp | lemon juice | |
1/2 | shallot | minced (optional)
1-2 | Tbsp | olive oil | extra virgin or regular |
Directions
Cut bottoms off of sprouts then cut in half (little ones can be left whole while big ones may need to be quartered). Remove damaged leaves or ones that come off easily. Drizzle oil in pan, place sprouts cut side down, and heat on medium-low. Add salt, red pepper flakes, garlic, and shallot. After a few minutes (the bottoms should have started browning), toss the sprouts so the tops are touching the pan. Toss occasionally and check for doneness with a fork. After removing from pan, sprinkle with lemon juice.
