Cranberry Scones

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup cranberries if frozen, thawed
1/2 cup butter melted
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1 Tbsp milk

Directions

  1. Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gently stir in cranberries.
  3. Whisk together butter, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 egg; add to flour mixture.
  4. Drop dough in 1/3 cupfuls onto baking sheet.
  5. Whisk together remaining egg and 1 Tbsp milk then brush tops of dough.
  6. Bake at 400 °F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Variations

Cinnamon

Remove cranberries.

1/2 cup cinnamon chips
2 tsp cinnamon

Savory

Remove cranberries and sugar.

1/2 cup cheese shredded
1/2 cup ham chopped
1 Tbsp chives
