Ingredients

Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg separated
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
pecans finely chopped

Icing

1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp milk or more as necessary

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla extract. Sift flour and salt and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Using about 1 teaspoon of dough at a time, roll into 1 inch balls. Dip each ball into slightly beaten egg white. Roll the balls in the pecans. Bake at 350 °F for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and quickly press your thumb into the top of each cookie. Bake 5 minutes longer then cool. Fill each thumbprint with white icing and top with a peanut M&M.
