Ingredients

Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg separated
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
pecans finely chopped

Icing

1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp milk or more as necessary

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in egg yolk and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract. Sift flour and salt and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Using about 1 teaspoon of dough at a time, roll into 1 inch balls. Dip each ball into slightly beaten egg white. Roll the balls in the pecans. Bake at 350 °F for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and quickly press your thumb into the top of each cookie. Bake 5 minutes longer then cool. Fill each thumbprint with white icing and top with a peanut M&M.
